Welcome Aboard
To: iToys Workshop Participants
From: Skip and Carol Dodson
Our adventure is about to begin!
We will be meeting in the Conference Room on
the Fiesta Deck, Deck 6, just aft of the theatre and forward of
the Casino. There are two of them, one Port (left) side and one Starboard
(right) side. We won't know until we board which one we are in.
Eighty-two (82) people expressed interest in
this event. We originally considered doing a series of presentations addressing
the topics you selected on the questionnaires we emailed to you. However, we
decided that, without a reliable internet connection, we aren't going to be
able to do a quality and effective job on this subject with a formal
presentation format. So we have decided to use a format more in keeping with
the original idea of let's get together and help each other and share our ideas
and our experiences in using our iToys.
We have created 6 discussion groups of about
12-15 participants. We used the info you provided on the questionnaires to
include people with similar interests in each group. Two groups are scheduled
to meet on each sea day, so each group can meet three times for up to 90
minutes each session. We will present some basic info on using the iPad and
iPhone and the rest of the time will be spent answering your questions and
giving you a chance to share your experience in using your iToys.
Our goal is to facilitate a discussion that
will help you become more comfortable and productive in using your digital
devices, as well as have some fun, relieve some of your iFrustrations, and
establish new friendships.
This is an informal event. We will talk about what you want to talk about. If we don't have the answers, we'll find them.
The composition
of the groups is flexible. If you want to switch groups because of friendships
or interests you discover during the cruise, that will probably work so long as
a group doesn't get too large. The conference room will be set up to
accommodate about 20 people.
Thank you for your prompt responses to our
emails. We look forward to meeting each of you and discovering what we can
learn from each other. Travel safely everyone and we'll see you at the Horizon
Deck sail-a-way or sometime thereafter.
Have a great cruise,
Skip and Carol Dodson
